Academic conferences and seminars

Planning and managing academic conferences and seminars is a premiere service that OCCR offers to Rutgers-Newark faculty departments and instititutes. Using a project management approach, OCCR works with faculty and staff throughout the various stages of planning and assists with management activities on the day of the conference.

Special events

Special events planning is a service that OCCR offers to the Greater Newark community and region as well. As part of this service, OCCR plans and manages high profile local, regional, and national convenings. OCCR also assists with hotel and transportation arrangements and can provide administrative support (e.g., event registration assistance, student guides/ushers) to groups that book special events through OCCR.

OCCR welcome and visitor services provide Rutgers-Newark faculty, staff, students and visitors with information about the campus, the city of Newark, and the surrounding region. There are two welcome and visitor service desks: one on the ground floor of the Paul Robeson Campus Center (PRCC) in the OCCR information booth and another on the second floor of the PRCC in the OCCR administration office.

Faculty, staff, and students can expect to find information about campus buildings, local transportation, and off-campus housing. Visitors can expect to find information about eateries in University Heights and the Downtown/Arts District, local hotel accommodations, transportation, and tourist attractions in the area.

Our tour service offers visiting groups a variety of tours that include locations on the Rutgers-Newark campus as well as locations in University Heights and the Downtown Arts District.
